The World of Marbles is Australia’s only gallery to specialise in contemporary art glass marbles. Not only do we sell marbles from glass workers around the world, we also make them here in our glass studio which is attached to the gallery.

The Gallery is situated  in Sheffield, Tasmania which is a popular tourist destination as visitors come to see the many murals in the town.  The town is overlooked by majestic Mount Roland and on the road to Cradle Mountain National Park.

The Crew
Jan Clay – co-owner of the business. I am a photo realist oil painter and in recent years took a turn down the lamp working trail to make marbles and jewellery.  The painting now takes second place as most days are now spent demonstrating the marble making in the gallery studio.

Peter Clay – the other owner.  Peter is a mineral processing engineer who spends most of his time working in other parts of the country or world and dreams of retirement so that he can become a glass worker.

Jo Foster – Jo has been with us since we started three years ago and since I am trying to be as honest as possible I shall have to admit that she is the one who keeps everything on track and does all the work! Jo has recently started making marbles and beads.

Dali – An eleven year old poodle who is the company manager and has everyone wrapped around his little paw. His life revolves around food and his life ambition is to eat a cat.
